The far edge of our map
Our trucks start in Orland Hills, in southwest Cook County. DuPage lies to the west of Cook and north of Will, and it is the outer edge of where we go. We’d rather say that plainly than suggest it’s around the corner. A DuPage pickup is booked on request: you send the details, we call you back, and we agree a day and a rough time together. We don’t promise a time window before that call, and we won’t rush a booking we can’t keep.
What doesn’t change with the distance is the deal. The tow is free and nothing is taken off the offer for it. You are paid when the car is loaded, by Zelle, Cash App, cash or another digital payment. The offer has no expiry date, so waiting a day for the truck costs you nothing.
A big, settled county
DuPage had 932,877 people at the 2020 census, second only to Cook among Illinois counties. Wheaton is the county seat, and the county dates from February 9, 1839. It covers 336 square miles across nine townships: Addison, Bloomingdale, Downers Grove, Lisle, Milton, Naperville, Wayne, Winfield and York.
Homes are mostly owned (73.1%), and 58.4% are single-family detached houses, with another 11.8% attached. Still, 12.5% of homes are in buildings of 20 or more units, so plenty of pickups happen in a shared lot. The car count is high: 43.0% of households have two vehicles and 19.8% have three or more. If more than one of them has stopped running, one visit can take them all.
The four villages with their own pages
All four are on the county’s east side, near the Cook line. Historic Route 66 crosses the southeast part of DuPage, and its old alignment survives as the I-55 frontage road through Willowbrook and Burr Ridge.
Burr Ridge straddles the county line, with Downers Grove Township on one side and Cook’s Lyons Township on the other. I-55 serves it at County Line Road and at IL-83. Its code bans street parking from 2 to 6 a.m. and lets the village tow an inoperable car from the owner’s own residential lot 21 days after notice.
Willowbrook holds the I-55 and IL-83 interchange, and the frontage road beside the expressway still follows Route 66. Most of its homes are in multi-unit buildings, and street parking stops for 12 hours after just 1 inch of snow.
Westmont is an Ogden Avenue village with a Metra BNSF station. Half its housing units are in buildings of two or more units, and its code bars parking on any unpaved surface other than a driveway, even on private land.
Oak Brook is the tollway village, where I-88 and I-294 meet. Office parks and Oakbrook Center fill its north end, subdivisions the rest, and an abandoned car gets 7 days on the property before it breaks the village code.
Roads into the county
| Corridor | Local name |
|---|---|
| I-55 | Stevenson Expressway |
| I-88 | Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway |
| I-294 | Tri-State Tollway; only its southbound lanes enter DuPage, between Westchester and Oak Brook |
| I-355 | Veterans Memorial Tollway |
| IL 83 | Kingery Highway, north to south |
| US 34 | Ogden Avenue, east to west |
| IL 56 / IL 38 | Butterfield Road / Roosevelt Road |
I-290 also crosses the county. For orientation, three Metra lines (Milwaukee District West, Union Pacific West and BNSF) serve 19 stations here. If the car is near a station lot or one of these roads, name it when you call.
Unincorporated DuPage
Not every DuPage address is inside a village. Communities such as Belmont, Butterfield, Fullersburg, Medinah, South Elmhurst and York Center are unincorporated, and the county zoning ordinance has its own rule for dead cars. In single-family residence districts, Sec. 37-700.7 allows an inoperable, unregistered or discarded passenger car only inside a completely enclosed structure, or in the open in the buildable area behind the rear wall of the house for no more than 3 consecutive months.
The definitions in Sec. 37-302 matter too. An inoperable vehicle is one that can’t be operated, leaving out temporary repairs and junk businesses. A derelict vehicle is an inoperable, unregistered or discarded one left unattended. An abandoned vehicle includes one not moved for 7 consecutive days that looks deserted. Inside a village, read that village’s own code; our town pages quote the sections that matter.
Booking a DuPage pickup
Start on the quote form with the year, make, model and where the car is. We call back within 15 minutes with an offer and talk through the day. No keys is fine, and so is a car in any condition. Apartment, condo and repair-shop lots are fine too, once you’ve cleared access with whoever runs the lot. Our guide to the steps of selling a junk car walks through the rest.
On paperwork, DuPage follows Illinois rules. A signed title is the clean case. Without one, list what you have (registration, an insurance card, a bill of sale) and we’ll confirm on the call whether those are enough for a scrap sale with your car.
Cook and Will next door
Cook County wraps DuPage on the east and north, and Will County lies to the south. Our base is in suburban Cook County, and the towns closest to it are there and across the line in Will County, from Lockport and Joliet to Crete. The areas we serve page lists every town, Indiana included.
DuPage County towns with their own pickup page
We have 4 town pages in DuPage County. The areas we serve page lists every one with a line on what sets it apart, under DuPage County.
Year, make and model are enough to start an offer.

How soon can you get to DuPage?
We don't promise a window. DuPage is the far end of our area from Orland Hills, so each pickup is booked on request and the day and time are agreed on the call. Our offers don't expire, so a visit later in the week costs you nothing on the price, and the tow stays free.
I live in unincorporated DuPage. Can the dead car stay behind the house?
For a while. In the county's single-family residence districts, Sec. 37-700.7 lets an inoperable, unregistered or discarded passenger car sit in the open only within the buildable area behind the rear wall of the house, and for no more than 3 consecutive months. Otherwise it has to be inside a completely enclosed structure.
My town isn't one of the four. Will you still come?
Ask us. The four village pages are where we have written up the local rules, not a fence around the service. Put your address on the quote form and we'll tell you on the call whether we can reach it and when. If we can, the terms are the same: free tow, payment at pickup.
