Free junk car removal for Homer Glen driveways and garages
Is Homer Glen close enough for a same-day junk car pickup?
Often, yes. Homer Glen sits just west of Orland Park, and Cash For Junk Cars Junk My Car Inc's trucks start from Orland Hills, so a same-day tow is often possible, though never promised. Removal is free, nothing comes off the offer for towing, and you are paid in full when the car is loaded.

Close to where our trucks start
Homer Glen is mostly a Will County village, but a sliver of it reaches into Cook County’s Orland Township, the same township as Orland Hills, where the trucks set out each morning. Orland Park sits between the two, bordering Homer Glen on its east side. That is why a same-day tow here is often possible, though we only confirm a time on the call.
From the tollway side, I-355 has two ramps at the Lockport line: IL-7 at 159th Street (exit 4) and IL-171 at Archer Avenue and 143rd Street (exit 7). Both are partial ramps, an exit southbound and an entrance northbound, and the Spring Creek Toll Plaza is on the same stretch. The village has Pace buses but no rail station.
A dead car can’t be stored outdoors
Homer Glen’s vehicle rules are in Chapter 200 of the village code, and they are blunt. Section 200-30 says every vehicle must be operable and carry current state licence and registration, and that inoperable vehicles may not be stored or parked outdoors. Section 200-28 applies that to the R-1 through R-6A zoning districts.
What counts as inoperable is set out in § 200-27: a vehicle with its engine, wheels or other parts removed, altered or damaged for 7 days, so that it can’t move under its own power. Temporary repair is left out. So the rule doesn’t bite on a car that’s mid-repair, but it does on one that has sat for weeks waiting for a decision. If yours is in that state, the offer form is the quickest way to a decision; we call back within 15 minutes.
Street rules from October to May
- Snow: between October 1 and May 1, once 2 inches have fallen, no street parking for 12 hours unless the street has already been cleared (§ 200-22).
- Registration: a car on a public street must carry the licence and registration the state requires (§ 200-16).
- Trailers and RVs: none on public streets, registered or not (§ 200-17).
- Heavy vehicles: anything above light duty (14,000 lb GVWR) may park on a public street only for short-term work, deliveries or services (§ 200-32).
From Goodings Grove to a village of houses
Homer Glen only became a village on April 17, 2001; before that, the area was known as Goodings Grove. It had 24,543 people at the 2020 census, almost all of them in Homer Township. Law enforcement is handled by the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
The housing makes loading simple: 89.6% of homes are single detached houses and 94.9% are owner-occupied. A car on a driveway or in a garage is a straightforward job. If it’s anywhere else on the property, describe the spot so the driver can plan the approach.
Who borders Homer Glen
Orland Park lies on the east side, and Mokena on the southeast. Lockport is west, sharing the I-355 ramps, Lemont is to the north and Joliet is southwest. A small part of the village lies in New Lenox Township, the township of New Lenox. The rest of the county is on our Will County page, and every town is on the areas we serve page.
Selling it without a trip to the yard
Some owners think about towing a dead car to a junkyard themselves. That means paying a tow and taking the yard’s price at the gate; our junkyard or pickup comparison runs through it. With us, the tow is free. Bring the signed Illinois title if you have it. If not, tell us which papers you do have, perhaps registration, an insurance card or a bill of sale, and we’ll confirm on the call whether Illinois rules allow a scrap sale with them. Payment is by Zelle, Cash App, cash or another digital method.
Year, make and model are enough to start an offer.

The car has been waiting on a part for a week. Does the village count it as inoperable?
It may. Section 200-27 defines an inoperable vehicle as one whose engine, wheels or other parts have been removed, altered or damaged for 7 days so it can't run under its own power. Temporary repair is excluded, so a job that is moving along is treated differently from one that has stalled. If the part isn't coming, an offer from us gives you another option.
Can the car wait on the street until you arrive?
It isn't a good place for it. On a public street the car needs current state registration (§ 200-16), and in winter a 2-inch snowfall clears the streets for 12 hours. In the R-1 to R-6A districts an inoperable car may not be stored outdoors at all (§ 200-30). A garage is the safe spot until the truck comes.
We have two dead cars on the property. One trip or two?
One visit can take several vehicles, so tell us about both when you ask for an offer. Each gets its own price, and both are towed free. If one has a title and the other doesn't, say so; we'll go through each car's papers on the same call.
